A cheetah decided to take some rest and hitch a ride across the Serengeti Plain of southeastern Africa, giving tourists a very up-close and personal glimpse of her majestic build.

The too-close-for-comfort footage was taken by Denice Alex Massawe, the owner of Top Deck Safari.

Massawe spotted the predator mother-and-daughter duo in July 2021 prowling across Serengeti National Park—a UNESCO world heritage site and a major tourist attraction in northern Tanzania, Africa.

“After searching for big cats for hours, we came across with cheetah and her daughter,” Massawe said. “The experience was amazing.”

Spread across 14,750 square kilometers (5,700 square miles), the Serengeti National Park is known for its vast landscape of grassy plains and acacia woodlands, and annual migration of massive herds of wildebeests and zebras.

The park is a home to the “largest concentration of predators” such as hyenas, lions, and cheetahs, according to its website.
